The Manager, China Medical Communications is responsible for developing and managing customer-facing and internal medical, scientific, and informative communications in collaboration with medical affairs associates in China. The role focuses on the China Medical Affairs region. Communication asset development includes written, video-based, and social media elements in alignment with medical affairs strategy. This role reports to the Director of Global Medical Communications.  

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Supports of the China Medical Affairs organization with internal announcements and various communications needs to provide visibility of Alcon Global Medical Affairs organization to both internal and external stakeholders
• Shape and lead medical digital communication and asset publication operational strategy and its execution in China based on the global medical affairs strategy
• Utilizes innovation to solve problems across several functions
• Provides and circulates approved China medical affairs assets to the organization and tracks the asset portfolio for the region
• Operates as liaison between China Medical Affairs and Alcon China Communications.
• Develops and implement strategies to enable business goals using digital communication and other tools.
• Leads strategy design and management of WeChat account for Medical Affairs. This includes planning, monitoring, asset management and translations, metrics reporting and gathering of internal alignment with Alcon China stakeholders.
• Represents the Global Medical Communications team in cross-regional and cross-functional interactions in alignment with medical affairs goals and objectives
• Supports the medical asset review and dissemination activities for China Field Medical Advisors across the entire product portfolio
• Internal and/or external influencing of key stakeholders to achieve medical / scientific communication objectives aligned with business objectives
• Responsible for operational objectives and long-term planning

Education and Work Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of experience of education and relevant experience
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in planning and leading execution of communication projects, preferably in a medical or biotechnology field.
• Relevant experience managing WeChat account preferred.

Languages:

• Ability to read fluently, write, understand and communicate both in Mandarin and English
