The Red Hat Trusted Profile Analyzer team is looking for a Senior Software Quality Engineer to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. You will join the agile team dedicated to the development and support of the Trusted Profile Analyzer (TPA) product. It is based on the Trustification open source project.You will be working closely with the development team to develop tests, review Pull Requests and maintain the CI. You will gain a deep understanding of a variety of technologies, including the Rust language and Red Hat’s container orchestration product OpenShift. The product is used to ingest, analyze and query Software Bill of Materials (SBOMs) files and to show any Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) that may affect the product, so that users have a clear understanding of the vulnerability profile for their software application portfolio. TPA can also recommend new versions of dependencies that address security issues. You will make sure our solutions fulfill the highest possible enterprise quality, performance, usability, and supportability criteria. As a Senior Software Quality Engineer, you will have a critical role to play in ensuring the quality of the released product is optimal, and the testing coverage is comprehensive and highly automated.
Execute functional and non-functional testing of the product
Develop new automated tests suites to minimize the amount of manual testing and to enable a frequent release cadence
Test other product deliverables including user documentation
Review proposed new features and contribute to the estimation and planning activities
Participate in/perform root cause analysis of issues to get a starting point to address problems
Serve as an internal advocate for our customers
Analyze and prioritize quality risks and identify tests required to mitigate them
Contribute bug fixes to upstream and provide demos of the solutions and technologies
Mentor more junior team members
5 years of experience in Software Quality Engineering
Solid written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to design and code complex test cases and code (or contribute code to) frameworks which simplify test development and automation solutions
Intermediate knowledge of a programming language like Java, Python, etc. Rust is highly desirable
Ability to assist in/perform root cause analysis of issues (possibly spanning multiple components/subsystems) and develop reproducers
Ability to take responsibility for writing complex test plans for a feature and provide usable time estimations on completion; ability to identify potential risks connected to test development of assigned feature and mitigate them
Solid skills in writing and maintaining tests with a framework like JUnit or something similar
Solid skills and background in Linux
Experience of working on with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift is desirable
Ability to build solid relations in the team and encourage other team members to do the same; ability to lead by example
Ideally a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field
