ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Analyst, Data Center Operations, will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day activities of data center operations, DCIM(NLYTE) management, and ServiceNow platform integration to the Data Center Information Management Platform.
The Data Center Analyst is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing the performance of the organization's data center infrastructure. This role fosters strong collaboration and coordination with the Infrastructure & Operations Teams, including System Engineering, Networking, Database Engineering, and Cloud Engineering, to ensure the seamless operation of servers, storage systems, network equipment, and other critical components within the data center environment. The Data Center analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring high availability, reliability, and efficiency of the data center operations.
In addition, within this role, the Analyst would support & coordinate as required Skechers Disaster Recovery efforts and planning in collecting, analyzing, and documenting requirements under the guidance of Skechers Disaster Recovery Manager.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Data Center Monitoring and Troubleshooting leveraging Skechers DCIM Platform:
- Monitor and analyze the performance of data center systems, including, but not limited to, servers, storage arrays, network devices, UPSs, Net gear, etc.
- Identify and resolve hardware and software issues, working closely with vendors and internal Infrastructure & Operations, including other IT teams, including but not limited to Applications, Data Analytics, Digital, Retail, etc., teams as needed.
- Analyze data center optimization or monitoring and implement preventive measures to minimize downtime and disruptions.
System Administration and Maintenance:
- Manage and maintain Skechers Data Center Infrastructure Management Platform – Nlyte.
- Coordinate software updates, patches, and configuration changes as required on Data Center Assets, coordinating the patching program as defined by the I&O team.
- Document and maintain DR runbooks for critical data and systems implemented throughout the DR Program under the guidance of the DR manager.
Disaster Recovery Support & Coordination:
- Support Skechers' Disaster Recovery Program by working with the Skechers DR Manager, selected vendors, and cross-functional teams under the direction of the Skechers DR Manager.
- This role will be instrumental in supporting the development and writing of the DR Test Plan, scheduling, and leading technical interviews with IT groups and SMEs.
- This role will support and facilitate the DR tests and exercises to document and measure each test's outcomes under the DR Manager's guidance.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for data center infrastructure, configurations, and procedures leveraging the DCIM Platform.
- Generate and analyze performance reports, providing insights and recommendations for improvement leveraging the DCIM Platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives and integrations with other key I&O platforms and systems for operational efficiencies.
Compliance and Security:
- Coordinate and Collaborate with Skechers InfoSec Team to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to data center operations.
- Work closely with Skechers InfoSec team to analyze security measures, including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems centered around our co-lo Data Centers.
- Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential threats or vulnerabilities in supporting the Skechers Info Sec Team as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Basic experience and understanding of data center operations, demonstrated through working on the same within an internship program or part-time.
- Working knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux), networking concepts, and storage technologies.
- Familiarity with monitoring and automation tools, scripting languages, and configuration management practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Plus but not required, Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Cisco) are highly desirable.
The pay range for this position is $75,000 - 85,000/yr USD
