Job Description

The Position

The Senior Business Analyst – Joint Ventures will provide support to the JV Director in relation to Australian Joint Venture

Operations. These include Albemarle’s 49% interest in the Greenbushes mine via the incorporated JV Talison Lithium and

it’s 50% interest in the Wodgina Mine with Mineral Resources.

The role includes supporting the team’s focus on outcomes internally and externally and support the JV Director in

delivering outcomes across Albemarle’s portfolio of JV interests. Given the breadth and structure of the JV team, the

Senior Business Analyst will be required to operate with skill and agility across technical, commercial, financial, capital

project and strategic disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote and ensure adherence to Albemarle’s safety polices/procedures and core values.
• Helps create, implement, and execute strategies, management plans and improvement initiatives to enable JV performance and value creation from mine to conversion.
• Strategic analysis – understand value for Albemarle and help with its identification and delivery across JV operations. Be able to support the delivery of the JV strategy and focus areas for value realisation though detailed analytics across a variety of disciplines.
• Operational performance reporting and insight generation – OpEx and Sustaining CapEx analysis and key drivers including reporting on budget and cost control measures.
• Capital Project (Growth) Governance – analysis of project controls reporting and key value delivery. Ability to track performance and generate performance insights and risk mitigation.
• Commercial acumen – align commercial recommendations and opportunities to JV strategy. Understand and work within a range of commercial agreements and governance frameworks.
• Collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver value for Albemarle Corporation, including drawing on expertise that sits within various Albemarle locations and functions
• Execute the development and tracking of joint venture key risks and mitigations.
• Relationship management – be able to support the development of new and existing relationships within the JV and operators teams as well as internally at Albemarle

Work Experience / Technical Skill Requirements

• 10 years’ experience in mining or natural resource operations.
• Proven experience in business development, contracting, joint ventures, or partnerships.
• Experience with mine operations, studies, and development projects.
• High regard for workplace safety and sustainability practices.
• Strong project management skills.

• Ability to analyse financial data and make sound recommendations
• Strong problem-solving skills in a complex environment.
• Strong leadership skills and proven experience in improving team performance.
• Proven ability to build relationships both internal and external and with resource industry peers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education / Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering / Law / Business with experience in and around mining or natural resource operations
• MBA qualification advantageous
• Consulting background advantageous
