What You Will Do

The expectation of the Welding Charge Hand is to support the production line, and is responsible for the team performance, management and quality of products produced.  The individual must possess the necessary enthusiasm, drive and desire to succeed and support development to achieve significant business results for the organisation.

·            Participate in the Tier 1 / 2 reviews, to include real time solutions for production issues.

·            Coordinate team meetings / communication flow downs.

·            Purchase materials, tools, equipment, and consumables when required.

·            Motivate and drive a positive team work ethic and environment.

·            Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines.

·            Achieve the highest possible visual, 5S results for the workplace.

·            Achieve standard times and process time reduction through assisting and improvement opportunities conducted with the Manufacturing team.

·            Responsible for ensuring strict adherence of all company manufacturing standards/methods and policies.

·            Assist process robustness, audit compliance accuracy, calibration management on the cell.

·            Assist the Team Leader in developing and maintaining the skills matrix.

·            Lead / mentor the welding team and identify development opportunities.

·            Minimize departmental downtime through robust TPM schedules and ownership.

·            Support EH&S compliance and CORE improvement.

·            Define the correct procedure, document techniques and settings needed to produce a conforming weld, work with manufacturing engineering function to update standard work.

Qualifications We Prefer

·         Apprentice trained City & Guilds or equivalent / time served experience, HNC in an engineering discipline.

·         Leadership skills

·         Communication skills at levels of the business

·         Organization abilities

·         Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

·         C.SWIP 3.0
