Job Summary

Responsible for leading cross-functional teams in development and implementation of supply chain initiatives to drive operating leverage and cash conversion. Align project work with overall business and enterprise objectives. Design and execute strategies and plans to meet short-term and long-term supply chain development/management requirements.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Develops and communicates a comprehensive vision for supply chain in line with global and regional strategic objectives and policies. Provides leadership for overall operational strategy program.
  • Leads cross-functional teams in the analysis and corrective action to drive operating leverage and cash conversion.
  • Drives initiative execution focus in critical areas including inventory, import logistics, transportation, warehouse operations and delivery management.
  • Articulates business case for change, and proactively identifies, communicates, and resolves barriers preventing flawless and seamless execution.
  • Oversees the evaluation of suppliers on best value, including service and methods, to improve field productivity and price.
  • Leads change management efforts to ensure seamless, flawless supply chain execution and engages support from senior leadership and field teams.
  • Partners with the business to develop detailed, comprehensive supply chain execution strategies and plans.

  • Problems are typically defined by higher level leadership. Problems are difficult. Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization's plans, policies, and guidelines. May set or change plans/goals within respective department or area.
  • May manage department via multiple layers of managers OR directly supervise a staff of professional individual contributors at the senior or technical advisor level.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity.
