Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Manager Tax to join Global Tax AP Region, Global Financial Services Division Team.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Whitefield Office, Bangalore, India

 What you will do

  • Supports International Tax, responsible for tax matters pertaining to India country.  India Country tax teams provide business and local tax expertise to legal entities and business units operating in the country. Implements global initiatives for countries in their APAC region.
  • Participates in regional and local tax planning and provides oversight of compliance processes in their region, in compliance with local tax legislation and in coordination with the U.S. International tax teams. Provides tactical support to tax consultants and managers, as well as other Caterpillar business partners on tax requirements to comply with regulations and internal control practices. Supports management with repatriation efforts, tax compliance, due diligence and integration efforts relating to mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations. Participates, supports and leads team meetings and projects. Provides information and analysis to leadership in the development and implementation of tax reduction planning strategies.
  • Supports controversy teams on complex tax audits and responsible for defense of complex filing positions, compliance obligations and computations with local tax authorities. Challenges excessive assessments proposed by auditors and other governing authorities to negotiate equitable audit settlements and resolutions. Analyzes, develops and reviews responses to support tax authority inquiries and introduce audit defense strategies for tax controversies. Represents the organization in tax defense actions.
  • Identifies and manages implementation of process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency in the tax compliance process. This may include streamlining processes, automation of manual efforts and prioritizing activities.
  • Knowledgeable on a number of tax compliance functions and has an understanding of tax compliance issues that impact decision making. Understands the need for adherence to corporate and external compliance requirements. Incumbent reviews, analyzes and processes financial information used to prepare tax related reports, income tax returns. Also, prepares supporting data and work papers as documentation of filing positions and to respond to queries from auditors or other external parties.
  • Conducts tax research for business unit and global tax impacts, including legal entity and supply chain reorganizations and compliance management. Compares an organization's tax practices and strategies against tax laws and regulations. Support tax leadership on Tax controversies, Tax compliance and Tax advisory.

What you will have 

  • Qualified chartered accountant with a post qualification experience of 8 years in corporate tax advisory, compliance and India litigation matters with additional knowledge on transfer pricing.
  • Big 4 experience will be an added advantage

Skills desired:
