ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under pharmacist supervision, prepares investigational products as ordered by physicians or clinical research staff in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines, and preparing all within OSHA guidelines and interoffice guidelines in accordance with approved SOPs.
  • Checks all orders for completeness of information.
  • Maintains current knowledge of study protocols needed for accurately fulfilling orders.
  • Maintains accurate accountability records of inventory, orders, shipments and returns.  Assists pharmacist with ordering of supplies, inventory and record keeping.
  • Maintains current drug information and MSDS sheets. Properly disposes all materials used when mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs. Cleans hood and refrigerators and freezers as stated in policy and procedures, if applicable.
  • Logs and dates all investigational products that are being used.
  • Keeps accurate logs on all protocol investigational products.
  • Generates labels and worksheets necessary for production, preparation and shipment of research products.  Properly packages and labels products for subsequent storage and shipping to offices and clinics.
  • Maintains proper control documentation of investigational products, including lot numbers, bottle or kit numbers. Complete inventory control of investigational products.
  • Maintains clean and well-stocked pharmacy production area according to policies and procedures.
  • Packing and Shipping IP orders to ship to Investigational sites.
  • Has required knowledge of all Research Pharmacy Technician duties providing the ability to multi-task in varied functions within the CRC.
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum two to three years in a Pharmacy setting. Certified Pharmacy Technician and/or Registered State Board of Pharmacy requirement. Computer proficiency and ability to use computerized pharmacy systems.

Must be able to view computer screen and printed material accurately.  Requires sitting/standing for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.   Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$16.58 - $27.63
