Job Summary
Comcast Engineering team is seeking a skilled and dedicated Quality Assurance and Automation Engineer to join our team. As a Quality Assurance and Automation Engineer, this individual will work together with the software engineering team and other QA Analysts to define and execute the testing coverage needs for our HR Technology group. They will also work closely with the product owners, project management, solution architect, development engineers and various other external teams. Additionally, this role will require the candidate to be the QA lead for multiple releases and to participate in all aspects of the development lifecycle including planning, design, test execution and release.
Responsibilities
• Write test plans, cases, and conditions to ensure effective test coverage based on product requirements for Workday and integrated Enterprise and cloud-based software applications and Mobile apps
• Collaborate with other QA engineers in test procedures, process and best practices
• Work closely with Development, Product Management and QA Test leadership to develop an applicable test approach and strategy for both specific products and product lines
• Execute long duration tasks and assignments according to project plans, to meet schedule, resource, and quality requirements
• Log and track defects using the designated tracking system and tools
• Writes and executes tests to validate products and software applications.
• Collaborates with Product and Development teams to identify product and technical requirements.
• Reviews and verifies requirements and design specifications for validity in overall product design, with an emphasis towards product testability and verification.
• Assists in identifying viable test strategies to support testing product functionality.
• Works with other Quality Assurance Engineers to identify, reproduce and document bugs or defects.
• Contributes to the development of Quality Assurance test philosophies and methodologies. Identifies viable test strategies to support testing product functionality.
• Experience in Agile / Scrum methodologies.
• Ensures proper execution of Functional & regression test procedures and automated test suites and scripts. Participates in design, code, and functional product reviews.
• Demonstrated ability to work on concurrent projects, activities, and tasks under time constraints.
• Demonstrated ability to work in team-based environments.
• Experience performing API and mobile testing.
Job Description
Required Skills:
- 4 - 5 years of experience as a QA Engineer, performing both manual and automated testing.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute software test strategies and test cases.
- Worked on at least Workday deployment project testing efforts.
- Expertise in Testing Workday Functional modules - Core HCM, Recruiting, Talent & Performance, Compensation, etc.
- Expertise in Testing Integration, Reports.
- Understanding of API Testing and API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI).
- Comprehensive understanding of test methodologies and techniques.
- Demonstrated command and experience working with JIRA or other equivalent test management tools.
- Experience working with an automation tool (i.e. Kainos, Selenium) and framework preferred.
- Experience in Scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, etc.) would be a plus.
- Experienced analytical skills and decision-making capabilities.
- Problem solving skills and the ability to work with senior leaders to establish strategies.
- Comprehensive understanding of test methodologies and techniques.
- Demonstrated command and experience working with Test and Defect Management/Workflow tools.
- Familiarity with Software Development Life cycle (SDLC) and testing process,
- Proven verbal and written communications skills in English.
