Job Title:

On-Call Mental Health Worker (Afternoon Weekdays)

Division/Program:

(Adult 24/7 Inpatient) Crisis Residential Unit

Starting Compensation:

17.46 - 19.00 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

Merced, CA

Working Hours/Shift:

On‑call coverage is needed for the Weekdays PM Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM. Coverage is not based on a set schedule and will vary depending on program needs and client availability.

What you bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in a social science field preferred.
  • One (1) year of full-time direct care experience preferred OR one (1) year experience of non-professional consumer-directed internship in mental health field preferred.
  • Valid California Driver’s License required and eligibility to meet agency driving criteria required

How you will make a difference

  • Promotes and assists clients with self-help skills in the areas of eating, hygiene and grooming and other activity or nursing activities.
  • Monitors client’s attendance at assigned activities and maximizes client participation through appropriate motivational techniques.
  • Conducts and assists activity groups and community outings independently.
  • Encourages client’s interaction and socialization with other peers, providing feedback to clients on appropriate behavior while acting as a role model.
  • Accurately documents in writing each client’s attendance and response to activity and therapeutic groups or individual counseling in the individual medical record.

  • 24/7 inpatient voluntary program
  • 16-bed facility for adults (ages 18-59)
  • Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services
  • Pre-vocational or vocational counseling
  • Medication evaluation and support services
