Position Summary:
The Manufacturing / Operations Job Family Group is responsible for manufacturing and paint shop management supporting the assembly, machinery, and packaging.
This role will lead the paint shop and carry out improvement activities, Zoning, 5S-related activities, and Gemba monitoring per the manufacturing requirement through process improvement in line with the business needs.
Work You’ll Do:
Finishing / Painting Job Family coating surfaces of manufactured parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective, decorative materials (e.g., paint, varnish, enamel, lacquer, or stain) including setting up and operating painting/coating equipment (e.g., spray machines, dippers, painting control systems, etc.); cleaning, sanding, or masking surface to be painted.
Selecting and mixing coating material; may use brushes, sprayers, etc., or rollers to apply paint or other coatings; monitoring painting system control panels and inspecting individual items to verify quality; removes old finishes using a scraper, chemical compounds, or a blowtorch, fills nail holes, joints, and cracks in walls with plaster or other filler.
Sets production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply, staffing resources, and volume required to meet demand and to ensure maximum production quantity and quality.
Supervises the Paint shop team of employees. Sets daily priorities for the team to ensure task completion and coordinate work activities with other supervisors to meet the team’s operational objectives.
Generating the requisition for maintenance of equipment, tools, fixtures & instruments.
Responsible for coordinating with industrial engineering for development & repair of fixtures.
Identify environmental aspects/impact of activities within the department and ensure compliance with operational control procedure requirements.
Responsible for providing training to the departmental employees.
Ensuring Gemba/QRQC/Zoning & Safety in Paint Shop Responsible for all the technical approval of products for vendor developments.
Zero complaints about painting while dispatching.
Team:
This role will handle a team of supervisors handling painters on-roll and off-roll. Two to three direct reports having a team of 15 -20 employees and contractors.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have requirements in the role: Engineering degree, Diploma, BSC or MSC-Paints & Varnishes, 15 – 20 years of experience with at least 5 years of paint shop management experience from the Manufacturing or Automobile industry.
