Materials Handlers are responsible for the replenishment of supplies, linen, and materials. You will use inventory management system tools to ensure the product is in place promptly. A caregiver in this position works 7:00am—3:30pm 


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Monitor the flow of traffic into dock areas and prioritize deliveries. 

  • Document variances and damaged goods received. 

  • Inspects and counts freight. 

  • Resolve incomplete deliveries and other problems with purchasing and accounting. 

  • Use computers to process receiving documentation. 

  • Prepare goods and supplies for distribution, prioritizes deliveries, sorts, and labels. 

  • Properly packs and determines method of shipment. 

  • Use installed systems: to receive storeroom stock items, inspect items for damage and verify accuracy of shipment. 

  • Document discrepancies on purchase order and submits to supervisor. 

  • Handle rush storeroom orders. 

  • Maintain the proper and appropriate professional and ethical relationship with vendor representatives, conduct business according to established principles and guidelines. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Must meet all Cleveland Clinic insurance requirements. 

  • May require appropriate Valid Driver's License (VDL) to drive box truck. 

  • Inventory knowledge and basic computer skills. 


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • One to two years materials management experience. 

  • High school diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting items that weigh up to 50 pounds.

  • Requires the ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 800 pounds and pull a 2500-pound pallet using a manual pallet jack.

  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

  • Lifts and carries.
