Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Director of Automation & Artificial Intelligence to lead and scale our Digital Enablement capabilities across GBS Shared Services. This role is critical in driving enterprise-wide automation and AI strategy, delivering innovative solutions that enhance productivity, efficiency, and business value across Finance, Customer Operations, and other core functions.

Building on strong foundations in both Automation and AI, this leader will unify and elevate capabilities across RPA, low-code platforms, and advanced AI (including Agentic, Generative AI and Machine Learning). You will lead a multi-layered organization of managers and technical experts, ensuring scalable delivery, strong governance, and measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute the Automation & AI strategy aligned with GBS priorities, productivity initiatives and enterprise digital roadmap.
  • Lead a global organization including automation and AI teams across 4 locations.
  • Drive adoption of emerging technologies including Agentic & Generative AI, LLMs, and intelligent automation.

Portfolio & Delivery Ownership

  • Own the end-to-end Automation & AI portfolio including pipeline, prioritization, and value realization.
  • Oversee delivery lifecycle: opportunity identification, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Ensure scalable delivery models across RPA, low-code/no-code, and Agentic AI/ML solutions.
  • Manage lifecycle and continuous improvement of deployed solutions.
  • Business Partnership & Value Creation
  • Partner with GBS workstreams (R2R, P2P, O2C, Customer Care) to identify and deliver high-value use cases.
  • Translate business challenges into automation and AI solutions with clear ROI and impact.
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Governance & Operational Excellence

  • Establish standards, governance, and best practices across automation and AI development.
  • Ensure quality, performance, and reliability of solutions through strong testing and monitoring practices.
  • Own Book of Work, resource planning, and delivery KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise data, security, and technology policies.

Innovation & Capability Building

  • Drive continuous innovation by exploring and embracing new technologies and methodologies.
  • Stay at the forefront of AI trends.
  • Develop team capabilities across automation and AI disciplines.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and learning.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Proven experience leading global teams in Automation, AI, or Digital Enablement domains.
  • Strong expertise across automation technologies (RPA, low-code platforms) and AI/ML solutions.
  • Experience delivering complex AI solutions to production.
  • Demonstrated ability to define strategy and execute at scale in a matrix organization.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Solid understanding of business processes (Finance, Customer Operations preferred).
  • Experience managing portfolios, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational development capabilities.
  • Strong collaboration skills across global and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear business narratives.
  • Strategic mindset with strong execution discipline.
  • Proven ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset (Lean).  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a GBS / Shared Services environment.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related field.
  • Experience scaling Generative AI capabilities in enterprise environments.
  • Background in both automation and AI domains.
