Business Institutional and Market Operations (BIMO) is a team of 400+ professionals who support our Markets, Treasury, CommSec, Trade Finance and Payments businesses globally.

Global Markets Operations (GMO) are responsible for the end-to-end trade lifecycle management supporting the following processes, GM Onboarding & Static Data Maintenance, Trade Support – Middle Office, Collateral Management, Regulatory Reporting, Confirmations and Settlement. Our functions are geographically dispersed with teams located in Sydney, India and London.

This role reports directly to the Manager – Global Market Operations.

The MO Business Solutions Specialist role contributes to the strategy by providing leadership and governance on the COO’s strategic agenda, ensuring the health of all the programs in our portfolio, managing strategic workforce planning, as well as giving operational support to our customer-facing business counter parts.

This role is a 12-months Maximum Term Contract for an external candidate, or a 12-months secondment opportunity for an internal candidate.

Do work that matters

This role is wide reaching and not prescriptive in every sense.  Discretion and sound judgment is critically important.

The role includes, but is not limited, to the following:

  • Understand the bank’s infrastructure on how the systems interface (Wallstreet, Murex, AMH, PMS, etc)

  • Lead and drive MO projects independently, owning the end-to-end process from data collection to model deployment

  • Collaborate with business and cross-functional teams to understand their needs and implement business solutions

  • Contribute to the conversion of business and customer needs into functional designs with the intent of achieving desired customer outcomes.

  • Contribute to assessment of dependencies and associated risk and compliance implications of requirements and solutions.

  • Understand what is required in terms of the interaction with both internal and external clients and the processes for sourcing information from established relationships.

  • Report processing/operational risk issues to management and execute manual/system-based controls to mitigate these risks.

  • Execute testing of systems and changes to processes/workflows.

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct sets the standards of behaviour, actions and decisions we expect from our people.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have

  • Relevant operations experience

  • AFMA Accreditation is desirable

  • Tertiary qualifications in a finance discipline highly desirable

  • Proven communicator with stakeholders, who can demonstrate capacity to work to tight deadlines.

  • High levels of motivation and resilience.

  • Outstanding written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, influence and work with stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to deliver challenging tasks to tight deadlines, evidenced by experience in owning and driving complex initiatives.
