Position Summary

The Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for supporting the creation and maintenance of the CVS Caremark’s standard formularies assuring clinical appropriateness, accuracy and clinical consistency. Responsibilities include supporting clinical workgroups, enterprise formulary initiatives, and additional formulary related clinical activities to meet the organizational and marketplace needs.


The role will consult as a subject matter expert facilitating formulary decision-making process and continual enhancement of the formulary management systems for the enterprise, and provide direction to the internal partners to implement downstream formulary activities including adjudication, web/portal, communications, and publications. This position will also assist with the coordination of formulary activities to meet organizational goals, client needs, performance standards, and Plan requirements while ensuring compliance with established Policies and Procedures, Best Practices and applicable regulations and standards. This position requires attention to detail and strict adherence to timelines.

This is a hybrid role, based 3 days per week out of our Buffalo Grove, IL office with the opportunity to work remotely the other days. Candidate must reside in commutable distance of Buffalo Grove, IL.

Required Qualifications

- 3+ years Pharmacist experience in managed care corporate setting, including drug information knowledge, and/or completion of PGY1 managed care residency.

-Licensed Pharmacist in good standing in state of residence
-MS Office Suite including Access, Excel, Power Point and Visio
-Qualified individual will possess demonstrated working knowledge of Formulary Management in Commercial and Medicaid environments; Drug File and Adjudication knowledge; and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee decision making process.
- Clinical skills and knowledge required

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given for individuals with in depth knowledge of Formulary Management in the commercial and Medicaid segments.

Education

Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD.

Must be a licensed pharmacist in the state of residence.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$95,738.50 - $206,206.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
