GLOBAL FACILITIES NORTH ASIA REGIONAL CHEMICAL ENGINEER
Join Micron Global Facilities & Construction North Asia as a Chemical Engineer and take part in bold initiatives that improve the reliability of our facilities while optimizing operational processes.
Responsibilities and tasks:
Project
- Design and construct regional green field projects in alignment with global standards, collaborating closely with central sustainability, cost, construction, and line planning teams.
- Provide engineering support for site-specific projects, including Alpha to Beta technology transfer and sustainability projects.
- Review and approve site capacity expansions and sustainability capital expenditures (capex).
- Determine priorities and make decisions on capex aimed at improving Facilities Reliability.
Reliability
- Offer engineering support for site system improvement projects, including System Reliability Improvements, Quality Improvement, and Equipment End-of-Life (EOL) replacements.
- Manage regional initiatives and find opportunities to align strategic programs such as Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Critical Specifications, and Quality Defense Line.
- Provide engineering support for major Site Incident Prevention Program (SIPP) reviews.
- Share lessons learned from regional events and influence the development of global standards.
Communication
- Serve as the single point of contact for regional sites and Micron's Global Facilities Central (GFC) teams.
- Ensure alignment on metrics reporting and provide clear, consistent updates.
Engineering, O&M, and Others
- Demonstrate an expert understanding of each site's Chemical & Slurry systems operational and maintenance capabilities, providing critical support as needed.
- Lead a global multi-functional team dedicated to project, design, construction, and operational excellence alongside site Chemical systems engineers.
- Provide on-site support for construction projects and critical Chemical & Slurry system failures across all sites.
- Foster teamwork with site engineers, offering mentorship and guidance on Chemical & Slurry Systems.
- Improve the operational and maintenance performance of network Chemical and Slurry systems.
- Support root cause analysis of impact events, offering recommendations and sharing lessons learned.
- Build and implement Best Known Methods (BKMs) to improve operations and maintenance within the network.
- Identify gaps in Chemical and Slurry Defense Line 2 and carry out improvement initiatives.
- Actively review all chemical & slurry-related events to identify gaps and share lessons learned across the network.
- Review and justify capital requests from the network, identifying cost-saving opportunities and improvements.
- Deploy cost reduction efforts throughout the network.
- Be actively involved in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) implementation and alignment, providing ongoing support for Chemical & Slurry systems.
- Drive improvement in the quality of our utilities through Statistical Process Control (SPC) and variation reduction.
- Conduct site assessments to ensure effective and consistent Preventive Maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance programs, procedures, and checklists across the network.
- Analyze and benchmark equipment performance.
- Support training, metrics, and communication programs.
- Identify and develop training and certification programs that bolster global and site efforts.
- Regularly review and advise on current BKMs, developing new BKMs as necessary.
- Collaborate with Operation Central Team (OCT) and GFC Central to improve facility operation and process defect reduction.
- Coordinate the expansion and construction of new fabs for chemical and slurry systems.
- Work with System Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to improve system design and reliability.
