Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision
Supervise and mentor veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff.
Coordinate daily staff assignments and ensure optimal workflow in the hospital.
Provide training and guidance on clinical procedures, safety, and best practices.
Patient Care
Perform advanced technical duties including anesthesia induction, surgical assistance, radiology, laboratory work, and dental procedures.
Monitor and document patient progress, communicating effectively with veterinarians and clients.
Maintain high standards for patient care, cleanliness, and infection control.
Client Communication
Educate clients on post-surgical care, medication administration, and preventive health.
Address client questions and concerns professionally and empathetically.
Operations & Inventory
Manage ordering, stocking, and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment.
Assist in creating and updating hospital protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Support compliance with regulatory standards (OSHA, DEA, AAHA, etc.).
Education: Licensed/Registered Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT) required.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of veterinary technician experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or senior technician role.
Skills:
Proficient in anesthesia, surgical assistance, and emergency procedures.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to train and motivate team members effectively.
Full-time position; may include weekends or holidays as needed.
Fast-paced small-animal hospital or mixed-practice environment.
