Join our Hematology & Oncology Clinic as the primary front office professional supporting one of the most critical and compassionate service lines at Logan Health.

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable Patient Access Representative who can seamlessly balance front-desk excellence with department specialist–level responsibilities. This position plays a central role in supporting our patients, caregivers, and multidisciplinary clinical team.

What You’ll Do

As the face of our Hematology/Oncology clinic, you will:

  • Lead all front-office operations including patient check-in, phones, and overall reception workflow.
  • Manage daily administrative tasks including scanning PSA documentation, verbal authorizations, maintaining the no-show list, and updating the deceased/hospice list.
  • Prepare and process cards for families of deceased patients in alignment with department protocols.
  • Gather and validate demographic, insurance, and visit-specific information from patients or family members.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and required pre-authorizations; communicate estimated liabilities and collect payments.
  • Identify patients in need of financial assistance and coordinate referrals to financial counseling.
  • Prioritize registrations based on patient acuity in collaboration with clinical staff.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans, requirements, and guidelines.
  • Support providers and the care team with day-to-day operational tasks to ensure smooth clinic flow.
  • Serve as a proactive customer-service champion, identifying process improvement opportunities and contributing to a positive patient experience.
  • Meet accuracy, productivity, and confidentiality standards while working both independently and as part of a team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Required:
    • Related coursework beyond high school or experience in a complex administrative support role.
    • Minimum one (1) year experience in a customer service–focused position.
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to manage sensitive information.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in patient access, scheduling, registration, insurance verification, billing, or medical office support.
    • Working knowledge of healthcare insurance, benefit programs, and medical terminology.
    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
    • Experience in a specialty or oncology setting strongly preferred.

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
