Job Description Summary

The Women’s Health Ultrasound (WHUS) Lifecycle Director serves as the primary global service representative to the WHUS sub-segment product team throughout the complete product lifecycle.

The Lifecycle Director leads the development of service strategies that enable growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction, drives design for customer service in new product introductions (NPI), and manages all aspects of the installed base including cost to serve (CTS), quality, variable cost productivity (VCP), end of service support.

He/she works closely with other AVS sub-segment lifecycle directors, the AVS lifecycle operations team, engineering, regions, and other cross-functional leaders to deliver exceptional customer experiences and meet service requirements. This role reports directly to GM AVS Lifecycle Management.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Defines and facilitates the execution of the sub-segment service business strategy from NPIs to execution and through the lifecycle of sub-segment products.
  • Leads lifecycle commercial strategy and tactical activities with the AVS sub-segment service operations team (Service Segment Leader and/or Lifecycle Leader), working closely with the product management, regional service and regional sales leaders in establishing and executing on the services roadmap as a member of the WHUS general manager’s staff.
  • Represents the WHUS sub-segment within the global AVS service staff.
  • Partners with product managers, program team, service region leader, digital services technology, service functional teams, and service marketing to ensure that a cohesive service strategy flows into sub-segment programs throughout the product life cycle.
  • Collaborates with the cross-functional team to develop value propositions for service and DFx (Reliability, Workflow, Training, Installation, Services, and Repair/Refurb) features.
  • Drives service design inputs, assess external evaluation and initial production results, and ensure service readiness based on regional inputs for product launch
  • Monitors and ensure adequate service delivery and commercial organizations in regions, working closely with regional service leadership. Enable cross-regions best practice sharing.
  • Collaborates with service regions to ensure compliant, safe and efficient service delivery. This includes contract capture rate and service revenue targets, while working with the team to ensure the lifecycle service operations deliverables with regards to NPI and EOL phase review discipline (PRD) milestones, service VCP activities, installation / warranty / contract cost-to-serve targets and other operational communication are completed in partnership with the product, service and region service teams.
  • Establishes close partnership with cross-functional teams equipment business to design service solutions that meet the needs of our customers. 
  • Acts as the product line service owner on multi-functional program teams, which could include marketing, sales, operations, engineering, and services teams, while ensuring compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures customer focus in product line lifecycle development plans and value propositions by establishing relationships with customers as required and ensuring the “voice of the customer” is reflected in work efforts.
  • Defines and leads appropriate service market segmentation and positioning strategies for the assigned product lines.
  • Drives the product lines to meet the needs of the service market. Responsible for supporting development of marketing plan, strategy and championing execution of the product roadmaps.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) in Marketing, Business Administration or related field
  • Profound experience in product management, product marketing, commercial marketing or related field
  • Proven experience in and knowledge of medical device service delivery
  • Product management/marketing expertise, including market trends/analysis, NPI process, product roadmap development, product life-cycle management
  • Healthcare product/industry/technical acumen
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, experience in executive level presentations
  • Strong analytical and process skills
  • Demonstrable project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment
  • Willingness to travel 10-30%
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Responsive and accountable to take ownership of issues and drive solutions
  • Proven communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization. Able to energize and inspire
  • Collaborative team player able to work closely with global product and region service teams

  • English fluency
     

Desired Characteristics

  • MBA or master’s degree in marketing, business administration or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in bringing devices to market in a manufacturing environment

  • German fluency for oral and written communication (local language for WHUS headquarters)
