In this Data Governance Specialist role, you will work primarily in Chief Data Officer (CDO) organization with the critical data that is sourced or derived in all business functions, to ensure adequate governance is in place and quality data is used for Privacy, Risk and Finance reports.

Role Responsibilities

  • Liaise with divisional and functional Chief Data Officer (CDO) to make sure critical data is planned in their book of work and delivered as per Data Management Framework (DMF).
  • Understand the principles of BCBS 239/ CESOP/GDPR regulation and drive the Data Governance process that ensures compliance from the regulators’ standpoint.
  • Liaise with Risk and Compliance Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure critical data consumed by Risk and Compliance is covered under the data governance scope.
  • Drive process improvements that would help industrialize the Data Governance function.
  • Define and build a data catalog for data domains, business glossary, trusted sources, data dictionary, system, applications, products, and roll-out strategy.

Role Requirements

  • Knowledge of Data Governance concepts, components, and processes (Data lineage, metadata, workflow design, traceability, data steward, data dictionary, and business glossary, among others)
  • Exposure to Banking processes like KYC, Customer Onboarding, SEPA /SWIFT Money Transfer Payments
  • 4+ years of experience in:
    • Experience with Alation, Collibra, Atacama, Manta,  similar.
    • Python
    • Process documentation, preferably in Confluence.
    • Requirements gathering, documentation, and implementation.
    • SQL structured queries.
    • Linux System Admin knowledge.
    • AWS or similar cloud data platforms.
    • Implementing Data Governance at the enterprise level.
    • Working with cross-functional stakeholders.
    • Develop and monitor organizational data metrics to continuously align data needs with privacy compliance monitoring requirements and data governance.
    • Provide progress reports to management and oversee periodic updates to the Governance Roadmap.

The following qualifications are not required but will make you stand out:

  • Knowledge in the data privacy regulatory landscape: GDPR/ CPRA including PII and NON PII data classification, BCBS, and Australian Bank regulation, CESOP.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to present complex information to all levels of the organization and be self-motivated with the ability to work independently to define and implement organizational strategy.
