As the Manager of Unsecured Credit Strategy, you will be responsible for managing credit policies, procedures and standards for the Credit Card Portfolio. You will work closing with Products, Credit Decisioning, Validations and Change Delivery teams to provide the best support in managing credit risk.

You will use your analytical capability to review and improve credit strategies such as managing initial credit limit offered, over-limit strategy and our automated decline and refer rule suite. You will take charge to support these initiatives through writing business papers and presenting to senior stakeholders.

This role will have a require a level of business acumen along with demonstrated experience in banking.

See yourself in our Team:

As the Manager of Unsecured Credit Strategy, you will support digital transformation of Credit Cards through taking ownership of the credit policy settings to ensure policy is relevant and appropriate. You will be working very closely with the Credit Card Product Manager to support the Bank’s Credit Card product offering through appropriate risk settings.

You will be responsible for writing and presenting business strategy papers, as well as understanding credit portfolio performance and trends. You will work closely with technology and change management teams to deliver changes credit decisioning strategy.

This role is ideally based in Perth Australia – but open to candidates based elsewhere in Australia

In this role you will:

  • Play a key role in refining Credit Policy and identifying areas of improvement through working with the retail credit decisioning and validation teams to how we can provide support

  • Review Credit Card strategies such as initial credit limit assignment, automated decisioning rules and in-life management strategies and make suggestions on refinements based on analytics. These will then be presented in business papers

  • Regularly review Key Risk Indicators and monitoring dashboards to proactively identify emerging risks and recommending proactive measures to mitigate risk

  • Collaborate closely with Consumer Finance product teams to structure appropriate credit solutions

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

  • You are self-driven and tenacious with strong stakeholder engagement & communication skills

  • You have prior experience in Credit Card Lending or an understanding of credit risk frameworks

  • You have a risk mindset – proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks

  • An ability to use analytical tools such as SAS, SQL or tableau is highly beneficial

  • You enjoy working collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders across the bank

  • Have strong communication skills to influence stakeholders and drive optimal outcomes
