Position Overview

Autodesk Consulting is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Principal Implementation Consultant focused on Water. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers, leading complex digital transformation and implementation initiatives across water infrastructure and utility projects.

Your deep domain expertise, consulting experience, and leadership capabilities will help customers maximize the value of Autodesk Innovyze solutions through scalable implementation strategies, workflow modernization, industry best practices, and technical leadership. You will collaborate closely with executive stakeholders, project teams, partners, and internal business units to drive successful adoption of Autodesk technologies across large and complex customer environments. As a Principal Consultant, you will also play a key role in shaping consulting methodologies, mentoring consultants, supporting strategic pursuits, and influencing service offerings and product direction through customer insights.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex enterprise implementation consulting engagements with strategic customers

  • Drive digital transformation initiatives across water, wastewater, stormwater, and flood management projects

  • Provide technical leadership and strategic guidance on hydraulic and hydrological modelling workflows

  • Conduct analysis of existing workflows, operational processes, and technology landscapes

  • Define scalable implementation strategies, governance models, and enterprise deployment approaches

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customer leadership teams on industry best practices and transformation roadmaps

  • Provide advanced coaching and mentoring to customers on:

    • Wastewater hydraulic modelling

    • Flood modelling and analysis

    • Feasibility studies and optioneering

    • Operational and asset performance modelling

  • Lead change management and adoption initiatives for customers and partners

  • Drive standardization and optimization of customer workflows using Autodesk product capabilities

  • Configure and architect solutions aligned to customer business objectives and technical requirements

  • Define enterprise-level migration strategies for customer data, standards, and operational processes

  • Collaborate with customers, partners, and internal consulting/product teams to resolve complex technical and business challenges

  • Influence service line strategy and provide structured feedback to product development teams based on customer experience and market trends

  • Support pre-sales activities, strategic solutioning, and scope definition for consulting opportunities

  • Contribute to the development and scaling of repeatable consulting methodologies, accelerators, and service offerings

  • Mentor and guide Implementation Consultants and Senior Consultants across project delivery and technical capability development

  • Contribute to task estimation, solution architecture, and statement of work development

  • Demonstrate thought leadership through industry engagement, innovation, and continuous professional development

  • Ability to independently lead technical and strategic engagements

  • Travel up to 50%

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental, or Numerate Science related subject

  • Extensive experience in Hydrological & Hydraulic Modelling, Flood Inundation Modelling & Mapping, Water Treatment Plants (WTPs), Wastewater Treatment Plants (STP/ETPs), Water Distribution Network & Sewage Network Design, Lift Irrigation Schemes, Pump Station Designs, GIS Services, Stormwater Management, Rainwater Harvesting Systems, and River & Lake Rejuvenation projects

  • Strong industry exposure to standards and specifications from countries such as UK, Australia, and USA

  • Deep knowledge and implementation experience with Autodesk Innovyze products including:

    • InfoDrainage

    • InfoWorks ICM

    • InfoWater Pro

    • InfoWorks WS Pro

    • Info360 Cloud

    • InfoAsset

  • Experience defining enterprise implementation architectures and scalable delivery approaches

  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and consulting skills

  • Experience with scripting/programming languages such as Ruby, SQL, R, or Python

  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant industry and consulting experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred

  • Expertise with software such as:

    • QGIS

    • ArcGIS

    • US EPANET

    • USEPA SWMM

    • PCSWMM

    • Bentley WaterGEMS

    • SewerGEMS

    • StormCAD

    • InfoWorks-CS

    • AutoCAD Civil3D

    • Navisworks

    • CivilStorm

  • Experience working with flooding analysis software such as:

    • HEC-RAS / HEC-GeoRAS

    • GeoHECRAS

  • Experience in:

    • Asset performance assessments and operational reviews

    • Network and operational modelling

    • Zonal analysis

    • Gravity and pressure network design

    • Enterprise-scale master planning

  • Strong understanding of hydrological studies, catchment delineation, and rainfall-runoff modelling

  • Experience leading global or multi-region consulting engagements preferred
