Position Title: Strategy Development and Implementation – Project Manager

Position Summary

The Strategy Development and Implementation Project Manager will support the F5 Global Services (GS) team in managing the setup, initiation, onboarding, and auditing of cross-functional projects. This individual will work closely with program managers to ensure organizational alignment, provide project tracking support, and help streamline processes for operational improvement. As part of the Project Manager experience, the position will allow the individual to gain hands-on exposure to real-world project and program management activities, while contributing to the success of strategic initiatives focused on strategic and tactical workshops, developing service offerings, and scaling operations.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, eager to learn project management methodologies, and excited to work collaboratively with professionals across various functions. The Project Manager will contribute to building efficient frameworks, auditing ongoing projects, and assisting teams to set up workflows.

Primary Responsibilities

Project Setup & Initiation:

  • Acknowledge project submissions and communicate intake actions to submitters.
  • Setup project information in smartsheet, SharePoint, and OneNote.
  • Assist in creating project plans, defining scope, drafting documented schedules, and identifying key milestones.
  • Support the coordination of project kick-off activities, including organizing and sending onboarding materials to team members.

Project Onboarding:

  • Ensure team members are properly onboarded to understand project tools, ways of working, goals, schedules, and responsibilities.
  • Help maintain documentation needed for effective planning and execution of projects (e.g., A3 Analysis documents, Project Plans, Risk Response Plans, and status reports).

Project Auditing:

  • Conduct reviews and checks on project progress to ensure alignment with baselines and goals.
  • Identify risks or gaps based on progress audits and escalate findings to program managers.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Assist in tracking project progress using tools like smartsheet, Excel, SharePoint, and OneNote.
  • Prepare tracking reports summarizing project status for program stakeholders and executives.

Support Operational Efficiency:

  • Work on accurate collection of metrics related to project outcomes, such as gaps in resource allocation or timeline slippages.
  • Help document retrospective learnings and recommendations for improving processes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Organizational Skills:
    • Ability to maintain schedules, compile reports, and adapt to changing priorities within dynamic project environments.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal skills for status updates, onboarding instructions, and documenting audits.
  • Critical Thinking:
    • Ability to analyze project details, identify gaps, and propose logical next steps to address challenges or risks.
  • Working Knowledge of Tools:
    • Familiarity with standard productivity tools like Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, and project tracking systems (smartsheet, MS Project, or similar).
    • Bonus: Knowledge of Agile concepts or exposure to project management frameworks through coursework.
  • Team Orientation:
    • Enthusiastic team player who contributes to collaborative initiatives and supports cross-functional groups.
    • Ability to ask questions and seek clarity proactively, ensuring alignment with project goals and team needs.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Data Analytics, ICT (Information, Communication and Technology), or a related field.
  • Strong interest in project management, operations, or strategy development.
  • Desired (but not required): Familiarity with Agile or PMP principles through coursework or extracurricular activities.

The annual base pay for this position is: $52,800.00 - $79,200.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
