Global Workplace Security is an enterprise-wide team that is on the forefront of mitigating threats posed by workplace violence and active assailants through educating employees, identifying and analyzing trends, providing expert opinions during threat assessments, and customizing training to address regional threats and government policies to fit the specific global market.
What You Will Do
- Assist in researching and analyzing current trends and recent events involving workplace violence and imminent threats
- Support overall team data collection initiatives
- Work in a collaborative manner in brainstorming training development
- Assist in managing enterprise-wide online learning through an internal learning management system (LMS)
- With management oversight, coordinate internal and external meetings and helps prepare presentations and agendas
- Assist in crafting content and analysis for monthly bulletin
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Outstanding writing and research skills
- Interest in strategic violence prevention
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Superior organizational skills
- Willingness and ability to adapt to new technologies
- Excellent analytical, open-source research, problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated to work independently while balancing multiple projects
- Ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator
- Critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of project management
- Proactive approach to work
Education
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Law, Criminology, International Relations, Homeland Security or a closely related field
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
- Candidate should be available to work a minimum of 3 days per week (24 to 28 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
- This internship is a primarily on-site position -- Required to provide own housing and reliable transportation for work in the Glendale, California area. Also requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace
- Candidates may be asked to provide a writing sample as part of the interview process
The pay rate for this role in California is $22.00 per hour.
