What’s Under the Hood

DriveTime Family of Brands includes in-house financing and servicing through Bridgecrest, which is one of the country’s leading financial servicing providers. Bridgecrest services roughly $17 billion in finance receivables for DriveTime and other third parties. We service auto loans across a wide credit spectrum with the intent of creating a strong path to vehicle ownership for our customers.

That’s Nice, But What’s the Job?

In short, as the Impound Specialist, you will communicate and negotiate with impound lots and assist in all aspects of the impound process.

In long, you will:

  • Negotiate with the impound facilities on the fees owed.
  • Make decision based on condition, fees, and profitability on whether to pick up or abandon the vehicle.
  • Conduct conversations directly with impound facilities to gather necessary information.
  • Complete legally required, state-specific impound packets to secure vehicles from impound yards.
  • Document information about location of vehicles, reason for impound, and total fees due to secure vehicles in the system.
  • Assign collateral for recovery, utilizing an approved vendor and ensuring customer accounts are documented accordingly.
  • As needed, collaborate with recovery agents and/or impound facilities to resolve issues with vehicle recovery attempts.
  • Document and routes accounts to abandon ques if the vehicle was determined not to be worth repossession.
  • Conduct follow up conversations with impound facilities over abandoned vehicle to confirm vehicle location and/or renegotiate on fees.
  • Assist other departments with inquiries related to the impounds process.
  • Complete tasks on assigned accounts in a timely manner.
  • Ensure impound notices received are properly notated in the system.
  • Route all impounded accounts to proper collection queues.
  • Utilize approved data bases, tools, and internet searches to confirm vehicle impound status.
  • Assist Impound Coordinator’s with the input and tracking of impound notices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be comfortable working on site and have availability Monday-Friday
