We are seeking a Software Engineer in Test to join our team!

Fidelity’s Workplace Solutions (WS) Digital Platforms Technology group designs, builds, and supports a wide range of digital products and services. Our Digital Platforms Quality Engineering (QE) team focuses on delivering test automation for mobile experiences. In this role, you will collaborate with passionate technologists to advance our Continuous Integration and Test Automation capabilities, while partnering closely with development and business teams to drive quality and process efficiency.

This is a fast-paced environment leveraging modern technologies to create innovative tools and exceptional mobile experiences using Java and JavaScript-based tech stacks. As a key technical contributor, you will help shape our automation strategy and play a meaningful role in our engineering success.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, document, and maintain automated test suites and internal software utilities

  • Apply and promote established software engineering practices and standards

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to: Recommend improvements to processes, best practices, and standards Build scalable automated tests and testing tools Analyze and understand product and test requirements Enhance the maintainability and scalability of automation frameworks

  • Apply test-driven design principles to develop, debug, and refine automation solutions

  • Deliver reliable, maintainable test automation code and utilities

  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Groovy to orchestrate automated test execution

  • Manage stakeholder communication, including updates to senior leaders

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • 2-4+ years of relevant engineering experience with JavaScript-based automation frameworks

  • Strong background in Agile/Scrum development

  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining test suites using WebdriverIO and Appium for mobile applications

  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript test automation for web applications using Playwright

  • Proficiency in scripting with TypeScript on Node.js

  • Solid understanding of web services testing; familiarity with RestAssured or Karate

  • Working knowledge of Jenkins, CI pipeline configuration, and test execution workflows

  • Understanding of Docker and test execution within containerized environments

  • Highly collaborative, with strong influencing and relationship‑building skills

  • Experience driving innovation and delivering end-to-end automation solutions

  • Background in DevOps environments (preferred)

  • Experience running automated tests on mobile devices, simulators/emulators, or mobile cloud services such as BrowserStack (a plus)

You’ll join a global Quality Engineering organization supporting the full lifecycle of application delivery within an Agile model. This role specifically supports the Mobile applications and its broad customer base.
