Overview         

AtkinsRéalis is currently seeking a Project Director to join the Project and Program Management team based in our Sydney office. As Project Director, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight and successful delivery of a portfolio of projects aligned with organisational goals. This role will ensure effective governance, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement across multiple initiatives. You will drive performance and foster continuous improvement to achieve high-impact outcomes within scope, budget, and timeline.

Your role

• Grow, nurture, and strengthen external relationships with key clients, contractors, and business partners.
• Act as a role model and ambassador for the company, representing the brand, vision, and value proposition both internally and externally.
• Establish and nurture an innovative, collaborative, and high-performing work environment.
• Lead the development of proposals, strategic pursuits and business development efforts.
• Oversee the delivery of complex projects ensuring they meet quality standards and client expectations.
• Ensure the highest standards of quality control and financial performance across projects.
• Contract/Commercial management ownership.

About you

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in the delivery of multi-disciplinary rail infrastructure and transportation projects.
• Experience of all stages of a project life cycle.
• Direct experience with project management and business development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, delivery partners and team members to ensure successful results and effective delivery.
• Proven track record of leading successful tender responses and bid management.
• Confidence to challenge the status quo and think outside the box.
