Summary A ClearQuest Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the ClearQuest application and architecture, ensuring smooth collaboration across development teams and adherence to SCM best practices. Roles & Responsibilities: 1. Install, configure, upgrade, patch and maintain IBM Rational ClearQuest (CQ)database servers, user databases, and client installations. 2. Understand architecture and troubleshoot issues. 3. Perform CQ schema customization, design, and deployment (new record types, fields, workflows, forms, scripts). 4. Manage user accounts, security roles, access controls, and multi-site replication (if applicable). 5. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and manage backup and recovery of CQ databases. 6. Develop and maintain documentation, including installation guides, best practices, and standard operating procedures. 7. Troubleshoot issues related to WebSphere, JAS and ClearQuest. 8. Monitor and optimize performance of ClearQuest infrastructure 9. Maintain license servers and enforce usage policies. 10. Provide training and support to users on ClearQuest fundamentals 11. Develop custom scripts (Perl, VBScript, hook scripts) to enforce business rules and automate integration logic. 12. Familiarity with web services and API integration methods (REST/SOAP). 13. Should have 5-6 Years of Experience Professional & Technical Skills: 1.IBM Rational ClearQuest administration 2.Software Configuration Management (SCM) principles 3.Scripting languages: Perl, Python, Batch, VBScript, SQL 4.Build and release management tools: Jenkins, Maven, Hudson 5.Defect tracking systems: Jira, Bugzilla 6.Performance tuning and troubleshooting ClearQuest environments 7.WebSphere Application Server and LDAP configuration concepts and troubleshooting WebSphere issues. 8.JAS and AVI principles and troubleshooting techniques. 9.Certificate Generation and deployment Soft Skills: 1.Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities 2.Excellent communication and documentation skills 3.Attention to detail and ability to work independently or in teams
