A Day in the Life

As a Senior Service Marketing Manager Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) you own the EMEA service marketing strategy and play a pivotal partner role to define market competitive service commercial offerings for the Operating Units (OU) and regions. You analyse and benchmark service market landscapes and define strategic commercial imperatives to ensure Medtronic Service can compete and drive incremental revenue for the business. You will co-own the digital marketing, communications, and web presence strategy for Medtronic Service globally.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Developing the EMEA Service marketing and communications plan which aims to build a commercially profitable and growing Service & Repair business
  • Develop commercial service offerings for Medtronic capital equipment with a clear value propositions and pricing strategy
  • Define the strategic and tactical service marketing direction across all OUs with service commercial relevancy and development of competitive service commercial offerings. 
  • Plan and execute service marketing and communications budget annually
  • Provide strategic service market insight (Voice Of the Customer, market research, consultants) enabling focused commercial initiatives to grow revenue
  • Lead the service sales enablement and engagement strategy for EMEA (service sales training, field/sales incentives) – “make it easy to sell service.”
  • Help deploy and lead the global service branding, communications, promotions and web presence strategy including conferences, roadshows, etc.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with 5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and influence at senior levels to change behaviour and mindset regarding the service commercial business
  • Combining a strategic mindset to anticipate any service market need shifts to prepare the business in advance while being innovative and creative
  • Deep understanding of market mix and ability to leverage all elements to enable growth and increase market share (marketing business acumen)
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels across all functions of the organization and customers and to work extensively with remote teams and experience to work with diverse markets (emerging, mature, direct, indirect)
  • Ability to drive outcomes in complex, unstructured and unproven market conditions (limited existing structures and documented processes)

Prior experience with companies in the medical industry or similar regulated industry preferred.
