Summary:
The Client Service Associate (CSA) is a key relationship management and servicing support role within Neuberger Berman’s NA Institutional business. The CSA will report to the Head of NA Client Service. They will support a Client Service Advisor(s) and their day-to-day responsibilities, client servicing needs as well as internal administrative support and projects. This position will provide the individual with a perspective on the Neuberger Berman Institutional Client Group business and well as the numerous product offering of the firm. The CSA also needs to work both autonomously and within a team environment demonstrating flexibility and team-oriented outlook.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Client Service Advisors on day-to-day client related tasks to ensure client deliverables are met. Tasks will include reviewing and sending out recurring client reporting deliverables, meeting preparation, entering client directed cash flows, CRM maintenance and coordination of client requests.
- Support in the coordination of ad hoc client inquiries, regular portfolio reviews, due diligence meetings/production of due diligence requests and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Review reporting content and be ultimately responsible for quality of content delivered to clients including the research of data related discrepancies.
- Provide appropriate depth on the client’s mandate, investment benchmarks, guidelines and servicing requirements so as to ensure all internal partners have necessary information to act.
- Together with Client Service Advisors proactively ensure Neuberger Berman delivers on all requirements established in the Investment Management Agreements.
- Forge close relationships with associated client representatives, be adept at understanding client needs, and in response to those needs show an ability to deliver value added services customized to each client’s requirements. Attention to details and responsiveness is key.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of client administration and related service delivery from other internal support functions.
- Help facilitate the onboarding process, leveraging the onboarding team for project management of the onboarding internally; proactively use the onboarding process to communicate the Neuberger Berman proposed servicing model, and get insight into client needs, including their expectations on how we interact with their consultants and other partners, if applicable. Together with Legal partners and portfolio management team, negotiate Investment Management Agreements. Assist with onboarding new client accounts including asset transfers (tax lot, etc.), legal review, system set-up (Aladdin, Clearwater), accounting standard and methodologies, impairment methodology.
- Proactively identify trigger events putting mandates at risk (e.g. M&A, staff change, field or firm consultant change, change in consultant view on the strategy) and work with others to mobilize the Firm on at risk mandates.
- Utilize contact management system (Salesforce) for entering relevant client engagements.
Qualifications:
- Strong achievement in undergraduate degree in finance, economics or related disciplines
- Highly motivated, team-player with a desire to work on a wide range of projects
- Exhibits high degree of integrity and interest in financial markets and investment strategy
- Ability to work well with different individuals and contacts of all levels of the business in a high-pressure environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow up skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
- Excellent presentation, business writing and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- 5+ years of client service or asset management experience required
- Series 7, 66 and 31 licenses preferred (required within first year of employment)
Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $85,000-$110,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
