About the role:
Remanufacturing is a key part of every industry’s aftermarket growth strategy and provides customers with additional competitively priced service offerings.

The Senior Account Manager in Mossville, Illinois owns the end-to-end business & lifecycle management for Reman Turbos, and other products listed below:

  • Turbochargers and Cartridges
  • Exhaust Bypass Valves and Wastegates
  • Air Shutoff Valves

Overall, the Senior Account Manager develops and executes reman product & supplier strategies that support enterprise services growth, revenue, and profitability objectives through effective internal partner relationships and Reman purchase-finished (PF) relationships.

Job responsibilities will Include but are not limited to:

  • Purchase-Finished (PF) Compliance – ensure all aspects of the Reman PF business comply with enterprise procedures.
    • Product Line Strategies
  • Purchase Finished Products/Supplier strategies – drive strategies that support an OPACC positive PF Reman business with favorable Reman contracts/agreements in terms of pricing, core value/utilization, inventory control, and lifecycle management. Collaborate closely with new-side engineering, Category purchasing, and Reman purchasing.
  • Internal Finished Products:  Drive strategies that support an OPACC positive Reman business through close enterprise collaboration around product and lifecycle management including pricing, core, and inventory management.  Engage as necessary with component suppliers for cost & supply chain escalations.
  • New Product Introduction:  Growth & Execution – Drive NPI through growth and execution
    • Review gaps in product lines for NPI potential
    • Review customer and commercial requests for NPI feasibility
    • Prioritize and refine associated NPI business cases throughout NPI process
    • Manage significant NPI Risks for major projects such as supply chain, inventory, & forecasting
    • Align with the Enterprise on Continuous Product Improvements (CPIs), new-side development, purchasing, and Product Support Logistics Division (PSLD).
  • Manage P&L to meet full year Profit Commitments
    • Manage Costs through Seeding & stocking decisions, availability and flow of core, salvage opportunities, and supplier negotiations/agreements.
  • Support quality for specific projects as needed, including supplier negotiations, escalations, and PSLD inventory/schedule management.
  • Have ability to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally, with the appropriate influence and ability to resolve differences. Good human relations skills are required to develop a collaborative/cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside of Caterpillar.
  • Travel expectations:  up to 20% suppliers/facility visits, domestic and foreign.

  • Alignment: Knowledge of the importance of collaboration among team members and the ability to enroll stakeholders in communicating and coordinating activities to support the organization's vision and strategies.

Top Candidates Will Also Have the following skills:

  • Knowledge of engines and how Turbos work within an engine system
  • Experience with NPI 
  • Knowledge/Experience in supply chain processes including aftermarket inventory management, purchasing, supplier relations.
  • Knowledge of the Product Life Cycle: Knowledge of the methodology and associated phases, activities, and deliverables of product life cycle.

Development opportunities:

Incumbents will experience end-to-end product ownership and engage across the multiple disciplines to optimize the lifecycle profitability through the added lens of remanufacturing. 

Commercial – Work with Commercial teams to understand:

  • The customer value drivers and specific requirements for new reman offerings, including interactions with dealers, industries, and field staff to understand the repair strategies for reman to support.
  • Repair lifecycle to ensure accurate forecasting to align parts stocking and with rebuild cycles and location.
  • All aftermarket repair options and the relative positioning of Reman offerings.

Supply Chain - Work with Supply Chain teams (IF & PF) to understand key issues and constraints in order proactively address and provide escalation with component suppliers.

New Side Product Development – Understand new product component strategies to ensure remanufacturability and inclusion of reman in new supplier contracts.
