The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is currently seeking a People Analytics & Workforce Planning Co-op Student/Intern for the Winter (January to April 2025) work term to support the Human Resources team. The People Analytics and Workforce Planning team has four core streams.
People Analytics (review workforce trends, research, analysis, predictive modelling, and metrics)
Workforce Planning (review, design, and plan human capital growth with the business and the Financial Planning & Analytics Function)
Human Capital Management (HCM) system management (provide oversight, planning, and managing HR’s Core HRIS – Workday)
Operational Reporting (generate, maintain, and prepare ad-hoc HR reporting)
This role has a high touch point with other HR Centre of Excellence (COE) functions and departments outside of HR, plus some engagement with external organizations for peer research and analyses.
Work under the supervision of the Senior Advisor, People Analytics and Workforce Planning to assist with various projects under the four core streams
Leverage our HR systems to collect and organize human capital data
Conduct research and analysis to support data-driven decision making
Provide recommendations and work collaboratively in a team environment
Prepare weekly and monthly HR Operation reports for the department and HR Leadership teams
Conduct specific research and data analysis on Workforce Trends
Participate in the development and launch of new HR People Analytics Metrics initiatives
Develop graphics, visualizations, and presentations as required
Ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the team
A fundamental knowledge of basic business and human resources-related disciplines is essential
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy, excellent product quality, and attention to detail
Has an interest in human resources or people analytics, a dedication to hard work, commitment to the highest ethical standards, and an eagerness to learn
Strong research skills combined with technical, analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook skills
Familiarity with Power-BI, Tableau and/or Python would be an asset
Training and mentorship to develop your knowledge and professional skill sets that are required to succeed in the industry

2 paid days per year for volunteering
Competitive pay: Mid / Back Office: $2,260.00 gross bi-weekly or $2,090.00 gross bi-weekly + vacation leave paid based on 6% of salary ($2,260.00 gross biweekly for those with (or working towards) a graduate degree or joining the Investment Strategy & Risk department and $2,090.00 gross biweekly for those with (or working towards) an undergraduate degree, diploma, or certificate)

Travel: if coming to Victoria for this work term, BCI will provide a fixed-rate travel allowance based on your location
All co-ops/internships will need to be completed in person at our Victoria office with the option to work one day per week from home. Please note, some positions are not eligible for hybrid work.
