Job Summary
The Director, RCM Strategy, Process Excellence & Transformation is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing Navista’s long-term Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) vision. Partnering with RCM, clinical, payer and functional leaders, this role aligns RCM strategy with growth, margin, and scalability goals.
This leader drives enterprise-wide operating frameworks, performance management, and capability roadmaps to deliver best-in-class results across the full RCM lifecycle—from onboarding and patient access to coding, billing, denials, A/R, and patient financial experience.
Focused on end-to-end business performance, the role leverages data, process governance/mapping, technology, automation, and organizational design to improve cash flow, reduce cost-to-collect, and enhance EBITDA. As a key advisor to leadership, the Director translates operational insights into strategic decisions, investment priorities, and measurable outcomes while ensuring compliance, quality, and an exceptional patient and practice experience.
Reporting to: Vice President, Revenue Cycle Management (Navista)
Responsibilities
Leads a team of 3-5 individuals to deliver the following results :
Enterprise RCM Strategy, Transformation and Business Performance
Define and lead the multi-year RCM strategy and transformation roadmap aligned to Navista’s growth, scalability, and margin expansion goals
Identify and prioritize opportunities across process, technology, automation, and operating model redesign
Serve as a strategic partner to the VP of Revenue Cycle and senior leadership on performance, investments, and transformation priorities
Own enterprise RCM performance outcomes, including cash acceleration, cost-to-collect, denial reduction, and margin improvement
Translate operational metrics into financial impact and actionable insights for executive decision-making
Establish performance targets, benchmarks, and accountability models across RCM functions and partners
Design, implement, and maintain standardized RCM operating frameworks, SOPs, templates, playbooks, governance routines, and workflow standards across Navista practices and shared-service teams
Operating Model & Capability Design
Design and evolve scalable RCM operating models, including shared services and vendor strategy that defines clear roles, responsibilities and decisions rights across clinical, payer and functional partners and vendors
Define future-state organizational structure, roles, and capabilities required to support growth and complexity
Lead standardization initiatives while enabling flexibility for practice-specific needs
Develop end to end workflows to identify process gaps, reduce rework and strengthen handoffs addressing root causes of denials, delayed cash and unavoidable write-offs
Data, Analytics & Systems
Drive adoption of data-driven decision-making and predictive insights (e.g., denials, cash forecasting, throughput) and partner with Analytics team to advance reporting maturity
Own system administration and billing platform performance, partnering with technology, analytics, vendors, and Cardinal business partners to optimize utilization, automation, data integrity, issue resolution, and roadmap priorities.
Technology Strategy & Enablement
Co-own the RCM technology roadmap, including platform optimization, automation, AI-enabled tools, and workflow digitization
Evaluate and prioritize technology investments by partnering with IT and vendors to ensure alignment with business strategy, focusing on ROI, scalability, and overall business impact
Practice Integration & Growth Enablement
Lead RCM integration strategy for new practice onboarding, ensuring scalability, speed, and consistency
Define playbooks and readiness models that support growth while maintaining performance standards
Ensure RCM capabilities are a competitive advantage in Navista’s value proposition
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Build a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability across the RCM organization
Identify emerging trends, best practices, and opportunities for differentiation in RCM performance
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, Operations Management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
8–10+ years of progressive experience in revenue cycle management, healthcare operations, process improvement, healthcare finance, or transformation roles preferred
Oncology revenue cycle, physician practice management, MSO, or multi-site healthcare operations experience strongly preferred.
Experience building RCM SOPs, operating standards, playbooks, governance routines, dashboards, and performance management tools.
Demonstrated expertise in RCM performance drivers, including clean claims, denials, A/R, DSO, reimbursement, cash acceleration, coding/charge capture, authorizations, refunds, and patient collections.
Experience partnering with technology and analytics teams to implement workflow automation, reporting dashboards, AI-enabled tools, or data quality improvements.
Proficiency in Lean/Six Sigma, process mapping, root-cause analysis, workflow redesign, and KPI-based performance management.
Strong stakeholder management, executive communication, and change leadership skills in a matrixed environment.
Ability to quantify financial impact, build business cases, track ROI, and connect operational improvements to margin performance.
People leadership experience in a fast paced , changing environment
Ability to travel as needed, up to 10–20%, depending on practice integration and transformation needs.
Anticipated salary range: $105,600 – $178,750
