About the Role 

 

To support U.S Urology by performing diagnostic imaging examinations, such as x-rays, on patients.   

 

What You’ll Be Doing                        

 

  • Adjust and maintain imaging equipment 

  • Precisely follow orders from physicians on what areas of the body to image 

  • Prepare patients for procedures, including taking a medical history and answering questions about the procedure 

  • Guide patients through the process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process 

  • Protect the patient by shielding exposed areas that do not need to be imaged 

  • Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking diagnostic images following established procedures 

  • Operate the computerized equipment to take the images 

  • Work with physicians to evaluate the images and to determine whether additional images need to be taken 

  • Keep detailed patient records 

  • Administer contrast as needed, in a safe and effective manner 

  • Monitor patient’s wellbeing during exams; recognizes patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action 

  • Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patients 

  • Selects length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient basis 

  • Examines radiology film for properties such as density and contracts, definition, magnification and distortion 

  • Maintains examinations rooms, and stocks necessary medical and radiological supplies 

  • Clean and make minor adjustments to radiological equipment 

  • Participate in projects and/or meetings, and complete other tasks as assigned by management 

  • Willing to travel to other locations for business needs 

  • Maintains strictest confidentiality 

  • Performs related work as required 

 

What We Expect from You 

 

  • Two years of experience working in a medical practice as an imaging tech 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Electronic Medical Records Experience 

 

Reasoning Ability  

 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

 

Computer Skills 

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge in computer information systems.

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
