Role Summary:

The Cash & Bank Specialist is responsible for managing daily cash operations, ensuring timely and accurate execution of payments, bank reconciliations, and cash reporting. This role supports corporate treasury activities, maintains strong relationships with banking partners, and ensures compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements. The specialist monitors cash flows, resolves banking discrepancies, and provides support during month-end closing. A key accountability is to safeguard company funds while improving efficiency in cash management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support daily basic Senior, Staff and Associate level employees as they propose and execute regular weekly payment runs, monthly payments and ad hoc urgent requests based on customer needs

  • Supervise the reconciliations of both proposed and final payment batches by developing audit and spot check verifications of entries and comparing system information to expected outcomes

  • Support the BSC Payment team of 8-15 AP professionals in day-to-day work assuring no lapse in service to supported sites.  Contribute to and actively support the development of training plans for employees within responsible departments

  • Support all department employees with complicated requests as they work cross-functionally with legacy site supply chain and others to assure end-to-end processes are effective within the assigned regions or sites and within FLS designed global P2P processes

  • Understand and provide guidance on all issues that arise due to daily system or process problems; communicate and escalate as necessary to assure issue resolution and in effort to engage management in knowledge of significant issues impacting payment processes

  • Respond to supplier and legacy site inquiries within 24 hours of receipt assuming 5-day business week.  Utilize guidance from staff and senior associates while understanding when and where escalation is necessary

  • Have general understanding of the payment processes and significant issues for all sites that have transitioned into BSC including those not directly supervised

  • Meet agreed upon timelines to transition sites into the Business Shared Service Center 

  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks defined by the direct leader or above

  • Plan and manage workload to maintain steady and consistent payment processes and meet all agreed upon deadlines

  • Exhibit leadership behaviors as strong examples to all other shared service employees with particular emphasis on setting professional behavior examples to all FLS employees with particular emphasis on shared service employees

  • Responsible for full cross-training with other Payment Supervisor employees resulting in full supervisor coverage during working hours

  • Ensure compliance with FLS policies, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and local statutory laws and regulations and that business is conducted within FLS ethical code of business conduct.  Demonstrate thorough understanding of financial controls for local and SOX requirements

  • Participate, lead or own projects as required

  • Handle and (in case required) escalate performance issues and errors occurred

  • Be the primary contact for the site, SV and other team members regarding any questions or process related issues

  • Ensure all outgoing payments follow the Standard Process and approve/authorize payments based on the Delegation of Authority 

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in Cash and Bank matters

  • Bachelor's Degree required, finance degree or Business degree preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Confident user of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Solid knowledge and experience using ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP) is an advantage

  • Ability to supervise the reconciliations of both proposed and final payment batches by developing audit and spot check verifications of entries and comparing system information to expected outcomes

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with stakeholders

  • Strong bias for action and ability to proactively recognize and resolve issues through root cause analysis

  • Continuous improvement mindset (LEAN Six Sigma is an advantage)
