Job Summary
Responsible for managing the administrative functions of the department and facilitating effective communication between patients, families, and clinical staff. Ensures accurate and timely documentation and workflow to support patient care delivery in a fast-paced environment.
-Coordinates patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
-Answers and directs phone calls, providing information and assistance to patients and families as needed.
-Maintains and organizes patient records and documentation in compliance with privacy regulations and hospital policies.
-Assists in managing the flow of patients within the Emergency Department, including tracking and updating patient status.
-Orders and maintains an inventory of medical supplies, ensuring necessary items are available for clinical staff.
-Facilitates communication among multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and address any immediate needs. -Monitors and manages appointment scheduling and follow-up processes for outpatient services as needed.
-Performs clerical duties such as data entry, report generation, and filing, ensuring the efficient operation of the unit.
-Assists with training and orientation of new staff members in administrative procedures and workflows.

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Experience
Experience in a healthcare administrative role, particularly in an emergency or clinical setting 2-3 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in electronic health records and healthcare information systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, emphasizing patient-centered service.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with clinical procedures.
