About The Role

We are seeking a product-focused Principal Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our buy-side product offerings. The right candidate will bring an entrepreneurial mindset to optimize existing product capabilities and partner with our business strategy experts to create new products, unlocking business opportunities.

This role includes crafting a forward-looking roadmap for BIDS Trader, as well as delivering on that vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Ownership: Take full ownership of the product roadmap for BIDS Trader, working closely with global business and technical teams to define and prioritize features.
  • Customer Focus: Engage with custom-facing teams, and directly with customers to understand their needs, gather feedback, and translate it into actionable product improvements.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics to inform product decisions, measure performance, and optimize user experience.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work with multiple engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions, and to respond to production problems.
  • Technical Excellence: Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code. Perform code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
  • Business Impact: Drive projects that significantly move the needle on key business metrics.


 Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on product development, and user experience (UX) design.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in modern browser-based languages (e.g. Typescript), frameworks (eg. React), and tools.
  • Product Mindset: Demonstrated experience in owning and driving product roadmaps, with a keen understanding of customer needs and industry trends.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and make informed decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading projects and mentoring team members.

As required by the New York City Human Rights Law, Cboe provides a reasonable range of minimum base salary for roles that may be performed in New York City. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, level of experience, etc. For New York City only, the range of starting base salary for this role is $156,000-$257,000. Additional incentive compensation and benefits may be available.
