Project Role : Database Administrator
Project Role Description : Administer, develop, test, or demonstrate databases. Perform many related database functions across one or more teams or clients, including designing, implementing and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery and configuration management. Install database management systems (DBMS) and provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance.

AWS OpenSearch Administrator About the Role: We are looking for a highly skilled AWS OpenSearch Administrator to manage and optimize our OpenSearch infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure the performance, scalability, and reliability of our search and analytics solutions, playing a critical role in enhancing our data processing capabilities. Key Responsibilities: • Cluster Management: o Administer and maintain AWS OpenSearch clusters. o Configure and optimize cluster settings to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability. o Perform routine maintenance tasks, including upgrades and patches. • Monitoring and Optimization: o Monitor the health, performance, and usage of OpenSearch clusters using tools like Kibana, CloudWatch, and other monitoring solutions. o Analyze performance metrics and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and reduce latency. o Develop and execute strategies for capacity planning and scaling. • Security and Compliance: o Implement and manage security policies, access controls, and encryption mechanisms to ensure data security. o Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. • Troubleshooting and Support: o Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to OpenSearch clusters, including performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, and node failures. o Provide documentation, training, and support to internal teams on best practices and usage of OpenSearch. o Collaborate with development, DevOps, and data engineering teams to integrate OpenSearch with various applications and optimize search and analytics strategies. • Continuous Improvement: o Stay updated with the latest developments and features in OpenSearch and AWS. o Recommend and implement improvements and optimizations to the OpenSearch infrastructure. • Automation and Scripting Knowledge: o Automate administrative tasks using scripting languages and tools such as Python, Bash, or AWS Lambda. o Develop and maintain scripts and tools for automating cluster management tasks. Qualifications: • Education and Experience: o Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. o 3+ years of experience in administering Elasticsearch/OpenSearch clusters, preferably on AWS. • Technical Skills: o Strong knowledge of AWS services and infrastructure, including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and CloudFormation. o Familiarity with the scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. o Experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible. o Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, including Kibana, CloudWatch, Grafana, and Prometheus. o Strong understanding of networking, security principles, and data encryption practices. • Soft Skills: o Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. o Strong organizational and documentation skills, with the ability to maintain detailed records and reports. o Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Preferred Qualifications: • Certification in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer). • Experience with other search and analytics platforms, such as Solr or Splunk. • Familiarity with data processing frameworks and tools like Logstash, Kafka, or AWS Glue. • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline
