Department Overview

In the Krakow PCR department (Professional and Commercial Radio) we are developing and delivering software used for business and mission critical communications & workflows in MOTOTRBO systems, Safety Reimagined solution and Application Developers Programme for 3rd party partners

Our solutions are omnipresent in a plethora of verticals important in everyday lives such as healthcare, public safety, transportation, logistics, education, hospitality, energy, manufacturing, retail and many others.

Our team is following industry-standard and modern software development practices like continuous integration/continuous deployment, DevOps, component- and system-level automated testing. We use agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) to organize our work ranging from cross-functional teams to portfolio management.

As owners, we are responsible for end-to-end software development life-cycle, including: specification and design, implementation, testing, delivery and maintenance.

Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cloud Service Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and reliable backend services that power our cloud-based applications. You will work closely with frontend engineers, DevOps, and product managers to deliver high-quality, efficient, and secure solutions.  

Responsibilities:

• Design and Development:

  • Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient backend services using JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, NX

  • Implement RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

• Cloud Infrastructure:

  • Utilize Azure cloud platform to deploy, manage, and scale backend services.

  • Implement and manage cloud-based databases e.g., PostgreSQL

  • Configure and manage cloud-based messaging queues and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, IoTHub).

• Performance and Optimization:

  • Optimize backend services for performance, scalability, and reliability.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring high availability and uptime.

  • Implement caching strategies and performance tuning techniques.

  • Conduct performance testing and identify bottlenecks.

• Security:

  • Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure system integrity.

  • Address security vulnerabilities and perform security audits.

  • Implement authentication and authorization.

• Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with other teams creating the cloud ecosystem and product managers to deliver seamless user experiences.

  • Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.  

  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.  

  • Document architectural decisions, and API specifications.

Basic Requirements

Qualifications:

• Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field 

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in at least one backend programming language JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)

  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.

  • Experience with database systems SQL

  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience with message queues and streaming platforms.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub actions, Azure devops, Jenkins).

  • Hybrid work model: 2 days from the office.

• Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.  

  • A desire to keep up with current technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with specific cloud services and technologies like Nx, OAuth 2.0 framework is nice to have

• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.

• Contributions to open-source projects.
