THE ROLE

As a Data Mobility Solutions Architect, you will serve as a strategic advisor and technical leader, designing and executing complex data mobility strategies that empower our customers to achieve their business goals. You will bridge the gap between pre-sales vision and post-sales reality, collaborating across global teams to deliver transformative migration solutions. This is a high-impact role where your expertise in architecture, governance, and hands-on implementation will directly drive customer success and the growth of our mobility services.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Champion Strategic Solution Design: Partner with Sales and Professional Services to craft and scope tailored migration strategies, leading technical discovery and SOW development to ensure solutions align perfectly with customer business objectives.
  • Drive Technical Excellence & Governance: Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex migration projects, providing architectural oversight, risk mitigation, and hands-on resolution of technical challenges to ensure seamless execution and "Expert" level delivery.
  • Innovate & Lead as an SME: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Data Mobility, defining best practices, creating technical engineering documentation (run books, diagrams), and mentoring migration engineers to elevate team capabilities and service quality.
  • Foster Global Collaboration: Manage cross-functional relationships across diverse geographies and internal teams (Product, Support, Delivery), acting as a trusted advisor to executives and stakeholders to maintain high customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Deep Migration Expertise: Proven mastery in designing and executing data mobility solutions across multiple domains, specifically requiring expertise in Block Data, NFS/SMB/CIFS, Object Storage, and Host/Cloud-based migrations.
  • Architectural & Strategic Vision: A strong ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable business solutions, with experience leading pre-sales scoping, RFP responses, and executive-level presentations.
  • Technical Leadership: Demonstrated experience guiding global projects and mentoring technical teams, with the ability to troubleshoot complex architecture issues and drive continuous improvement in service delivery methodologies.
  • Consultative Approach: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of building trust with customers and navigating critical escalations with a focus on successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success in customer-facing consulting roles with a strong focus on pre-sales engineering, solution design, and technical implementation.
  • Extensive experience in "nix system administration", including NFS protocol management, multipathing, file transfer workflows, and file system security.
  • Strong working knowledge of major enterprise operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and AIX.
  • Expert-level proficiency in NAS technologies, including NFS, SMB/CIFS, and Object protocols, as well as file system permissions, encryption, and secure data access.
  • We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, Raleigh or Lehi office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity. 

There is no application deadline and we accept applications on an ongoing basis until the job is filled.

The annual base salary range is:
$86,000$184,000 USD
