Agropur is looking for a production manager to join his Don Mills team.

The production manager is responsible for leading the dairy processing, packaging and raw materials operations of Agropur’s Don Mills facility. He works closely with the continuous improvement sectors to bring the DMS to life in his sector.

What’s involved in this role:

More specifically, the production manager responsibilities include:

• Manage lead and motivate a team through pro-active communications, employee involvement and participation,

• Ensure application of policies and sound employee relations practices within a unionized environment.

• Plan and deploy human resources to deliver the strategic and operational plan.

• Collaboration with the production planning manager to develop and effective short term production schedule and medium-term production plan.

• Manage production effectively to ensure sustainable cost competitiveness and customer service.

• Deliver short term and long term KPI.

• Implement lean manufacturing techniques to drive continuous improvement and zero losses.

• Collaborate with Operation Effectiveness teams and pillar owners to deliver the sites lean manufacturing roadmap.

• Partners effectively with all multi-functional peers, both internal and external, to deliver KPI and strategic goals.

• Build a culture that embraces lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

• Drive organization change utilizing change management principles.

• Participates in grievances meetings providing leadership and direction to grievance resolution and responses.

What you need to join our team:

• Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field.

• Minimum of 12 years of progressive manufacturing experience in the food or consumer goods industry.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience leading a team in a production unionized environment.

• Extensive experience leading and implementing lean manufacturing.

• Significant experience with SAP.
