Full-Time | Remote
Work Hours: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM (US CST)
Schedule: This position follows a rotational schedule (including weekdays and weekends) in coordination with the second team member to ensure full coverage.

The Medical Information Specialist/Toxicologist will be responsible to perform intake and document adverse event reports and product quality complaints, provide product safety information to consumers, end users and health care professionals and notify client as outlined in notification guidelines. Record complete and accurate documentation of health and safety calls in safety database. Provide drug information for pharmaceutical, health and nutrition products. Maintain distinctive quality and commitment as the operating philosophy in carrying out all processes. Continually seek out ways to enhance customer service experience both internally and externally.

Essential Functions Include:
• Answer the telephone at the Health and Safety Call Center.
• Handle calls involving both animals and humans.
• Obtain demographic data from callers.
• Document adverse event and information calls for manufacturers.
• Follow up with callers to assure there are no further health concerns.
• Respond with appropriate information based on client specifications, without providing caller specific diagnostic or treatment advice.
• Provide drug information for pharmaceutical and health and nutrition manufacturers.
• Discuss health and safety issues with consumers, workers, and health care professionals.
• Notify appropriate Lead about cases as outlined in notification guidelines.
• Assess severity and consistency for cases.
• Prepare Adverse Event reports for Animal FDA Cases.
• Write case reviews assessing causality per client request.
• Manage and prepare PMRA and NASC reports for select clients.
• Serve as a mentor and resource to Information Specialist staff.
• Watch for trends involving new products or new issues with existing products.
• Participate in training new call center staff.
• Assist with development of call center training programs including new client product training.
• Stay up to date on continuing education requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates must have:
• Required: RN, RPh, PharmD, DVM or equivalent.
• Required: Current license appropriate with degree or equivalent
• Proficient computer knowledge and computer keyboarding skills.
• Professional telephone etiquette; active listening and pleasant speaking voice.
• Able to translate complex medical information to consumers and health care professionals.
• Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organization and prioritization skills; with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work well independently and within a team.
• Able to project professionalism and maintain composure in handling difficult situations and in times of stress.
• Able to work night-time differential due to time zone differences, weekends, and holidays.
