SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...

As a member of Pure Storage’s Public Relations team, the Director of Product and Technology Public Relations will lead the development and execution of an impactful, competitively differentiated product and technology public relations program that aligns to Pure’s overarching goals and objectives. We are looking for a communications leader who is passionate about public relations, has great relationships with technology and business media, and is eager to expand coverage of Pure’s platform, leadership products, and technology POV. 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead Pure’s product and tech PR function; build and execute creative, strategic product and technology PR programs and campaigns, including measurement aligned to outcomes
  • Implement strong writing and storytelling skills to craft compelling announcements, blogs, key messages and narratives in support of Pure’s news and thought leadership
  • Maintain awareness of broader industry and technology issues, and insert Pure’s point of view in coverage of the key issues impacting the data storage industry – including data management, AI, cyber resilience, etc.
  • Leverage existing relationships and create new relationships across technology trade and business media to drive coverage of Pure’s products and tech POV; serve as a spokesperson on Pure’s product and tech news
  • Collaborate with Pure’s leadership team, including the company’s product and technology leaders, and product marketing organization to deliver content and programs in support of Pure’s product and tech priorities  
  • Partner closely with Pure’s Analyst Relations team to force multiply product and technology comms programs
  • Apply an integrated communications motion to tier-one activations 
  • Broaden overall awareness and consideration of Pure Storage, its strategy, core products, and competitive differentiation

  • Someone who has fantastic technology media and influencer relationships and is energized by the prospect of expanding the universe of media that care about Pure
  • Agile and successful operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 
  • Up-to-speed on current market trends and the broader tech industry and able to envision opportunities to insert Pure’s voice into this landscape 
  • Someone who understands the massive opportunity for PR to enable and support the trajectory of a high-growth company 
  • Experienced working in a small-team environment and able to beautifully partner across the comms team and global organizational functions
  • Adept at educating business stakeholders about what great PR looks like 
  • A positive, high-energy, solutions-oriented team-player 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business, or a technology field.
  • 10-12  years of experience in technology/product Public Relations in the tech sector
  • Basic storage, data protection, AI, and/or cloud native application environment knowledge a plus

 

  • We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

 

The annual base salary range is: $182,000.00 – $291,000.00. 

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
