How you will create an impact

The NAM Aerospace Airports & Products major loss adjuster is a key technical position responsible for the proactive management of NA Aerospace Airports & Products claims. The role serves as a large & complex NA Aerospace airports & aviation product claim handler in collaboration with NA Aerospace Claim leadership, NA Aerospace underwriting business leads & stakeholders to deliver a consistent, efficient and customer centric NA Aerospace Airports & Products claim proposition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong technical large and complex Aerospace Airports & Products claim management aimed at ensuring the best possible loss outcomes through Total Cost of Claim management and initiatives
  • Act as one of the lead NA Aerospace Airport & Product Claim handlers authorizing reserves and payments within granted authority and referring over authority claim decisions to appropriate Senior Claim leadership
  • Ensure prescriptive and cost effective management of assigned vendors on large & complex claims handled
  • Communicate, update and maintain compliance with established AIG Claims & Litigation guidelines, ensure appropriate and timely engagement with AIG Legal department and participate in cross-functional litigated claim file roundtables
  • Report on individually handled significant NA Aerospace Airport & Product large losses, casualties & catastrophes to NA Aerospace Claim leadership in timely and accurate fashion
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with NA Regional Aerospace underwriting, actuaries, finance, reinsurance and other stakeholders on claim trends
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Regional and local Aerospace Airports & Products customers & brokers
  • Maintain superior Aerospace Airports & Product claim skills by participating in and delivering technical training, keeping current with industry custom & practice
  • Identify and report NA Aerospace Airports & Product claim trends, lessons learned & risk management opportunities and to share with the NA Aerospace Claim management as well as relevant Aerospace stakeholders (underwriting, actuarial, finance, risk management)
  • Support Head of NA Aerospace Claims on all assigned projects and initiatives
  • Enable and facilitate NA Aerospace Claims team compliance with all appropriate governmental regulatory and AIG Corporate claims governance guidelines

What you'll need to succeed

Leadership Skills:

  • Proven leadership and personnel management skills
  • Extensive Aerospace Airports & Product claim management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a broad range of stakeholders
  • Highly collaborative approach across functions and geographies
  • Ability to manage and influence team and stakeholders across North America

Technical Skills and Expertise:

  • Strong technical Aerospace claim capability to manage and oversee assigned Aerospace Airports & Product claims
  • Demonstrate an established & proven reputation in Aerospace Insurance claim management
  • Ability to manage / minimize the total cost of complex Aerospace claims in indemnity & expense
  • Existing strong relationships with NA Aerospace stakeholders, customers, and brokers / producers

For positions based in New York City, the base salary range is $93,000 - $130,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
