Medically Supervised Injecting Room (MSIR) - Practice Development Nurse
About the Role
You will design and deliver education, training and professional development for clinicians and practitioners working within the programs within the Medically Supervised Injecting Room (MSIR), supporting the delivery of high-quality clinical and harm reduction services. You will work closely with MSIR Senior Leadership including the Medical Director, Head of AOD, Clinical Managers and Harm Reduction Practitioner Managers to understand training and education requirements, and roll out programs that support clinically safe and effective program delivery.
Classifications for this position will range from RN35 ($122,907.20 per annum pro rata)

About Education and Learning
St Vincent’s provides extensive Education and Learning support and services to staff and students across the health service. The educational team members are based across multiple campuses including Fitzroy, St George’s Hospital Kew, St. Vincent’s on the Park East Melbourne, Caritas Christi Hospice Kew, Port Phillip Prison and the North Richmond Community Health (NRCH) centre.
This position will be based at NRCH within the MSIR. MSIR is an anonymous service that provides a setting for supervised injecting and on-site clinical services as well as access to a range of partnered health and social support services. The MSIR service reduces overdose deaths and non-fatal overdose-related harms, reduces ambulance attendances and emergency department presentations related to overdose, assists in reducing the spread of blood-borne diseases including HIV and hepatitis C and provides a gateway to health services including mental health and drug treatment services.
