Clinical Informatics Manager - Clinical (RN, NP or MD)
The Clinical Informatics Manager optimize clinical workflows and ensuring seamless integration between clinical operations, product development, and engineering teams. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the clinical informatics team, coordinates EHR optimization projects, and ensures adherence to documentation, workflow, and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Partner to product and engineering
- Manages day-to-day operations of the clinical informatics team.
- Coordinates EHR optimization projects and implementation plans.
- Supervises clinical informatics staff and assigns tasks.
- Ensures adherence to documentation and workflow standards.
- Analyzes impact of upgrades and system changes on workflows.
- Ensures adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Identifies and implements improvements to clinical workflows.
- Coordinates with clinical and IT teams to develop streamlined processes.
- Ensures proper integration of automation opportunities within EHR.
- Manages updates to encounter plans, text macros, and order sets.
- Supports clinical team by eliminating redundancies and enhancing efficiency.
- Identification of automation opportunities: Patient Record Sharing, Order (Lab/Referral/Imaging) PDF availability in Midi Scheduler. Patient Record Sharing flows, documentation standards updates, integrations with labs or health systems (ex. Labcorp, Quest, SonoraQuest, Mount Sinai).
Education:
- Required: Advanced degree in a clinical field (RN, NP, or MD).
- Required: Training, 5 years experience in formal role or certification in Clinical Informatics or Health Information Technology.
Qualifications:
- Clinical Experience: Strong background in patient care as a licensed RN, NP, or MD, with practical knowledge of clinical workflows.
- EHR Expertise: Advanced user of Athena Health EHR with experience in system configuration, including telehealth, proficient in EHR optimization and implementation, including encounter plans, text macros, and order sets.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience managing and supervising clinical informatics teams, including task assignment and performance evaluation.
- Process Improvement: Proven ability to identify and implement workflow and documentation improvements in clinical settings.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of EHR automation and integration opportunities, including patient record sharing, lab system integrations (e.g., Labcorp, Quest), and scheduling tools.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze the impact of system upgrades and changes on clinical workflows and implement necessary adjustments.
- Collaboration: Experience partnering with product, engineering, and IT teams to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with clinical and non-clinical teams.
