The Senior Reinsurance Analyst is responsible for reporting and analysis for ceded and assumed reinsurance.  Strong reconciliation skills required for validation of ceded payable and assumed recoverable/payable. Provides necessary support for monthly close process, manage assigned accounts, special projects as assigned.


Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Calculate and validate ceded reinsurance premiums in reinsurance system.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly bordereaux to report ceded premiums and losses to reinsurers.
  • Review reinsurer premium invoices and validate amounts due. 
  • Manages cash and research discrepancies.
  • Resolves payment discrepancies with underwriters and reinsurers.
  • Process ceded payments and apply cash receipts in reinsurance as needed.
  • Manage assumed book of business, including entry into the reinsurance system, and cash management
  • Liaise with other Reinsurance Accounting team members as well as members as members of the Underwriting and Claims departments.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 5-7 years of related insurance and reinsurance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current principles and practices of reinsurance, claims and accounting functions.


SALARY: The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year. This is a good-faith assessment of the salary range for this position only. In determining the actual salary within this range, MSIG USA will consider a candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors.
