Job Description Summary:
The Point of Care Testing Coordinator is responsible for the operations of laboratory testing performed in areas other than the main laboratory. Responsibilities include equipment evaluation and selections; training and certification of staff; monitoring of quality control, proficiency testing and quality assurance; preparation of procedure manual; and compliance with deferral, state and local regulations and voluntary standards. This position may also consult on issues of Point of Care Testing to any OhioHealth facility and any community health facility.Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university, in Medical Technology, chemistry, microbiology, biology or other related field required. Certification by the Board of registry of the A. S. C. P. or equivalent required. Experience in evaluation of equipment or methods and principles of quality control and clinical correction of data highly favorable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills highly favored. Knowledge of regulatory standards of accrediting agencies of CAP, JC, and CLIA preferred.
