Summary

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Senior Catering Sales Manager (SCSM) for ASM Global/Savor at the Moscone Center. The SCSM will plan and execute all sales of food and beverage for events that are large in scale, that average 1,500 pp to 10,000 pp.

The SCSM will mentor and assist Sales Managers (SMs) as assigned by the Director of Sales on their specific event(s).

Employment is contingent upon the new employee providing documents verifying U.S citizenship or for aliens, and documents verifying legal permission to work in the United States. Final candidates will be required to undergo a background check.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
 

  • Primary contact for your assigned client(s) before, during and after their event.
  • Provide leadership and communications on behalf of your client to and from Moscone Event Managers and Operations, Food and Beverage departments (Culinary, Operations, Scheduling, Finance and Purchasing) and for strategic planning.
  • Planning, selling, paperwork and details for all menus for each assigned event, including New Item Requests to Culinary and Purchasing departments.
  • Assist ADS to update the Savor computer program and event calendar.
  • Attend weekly production meetings for events assigned to SCSM and events SCSM is mentoring and site visits for potential and/or unassigned events.
  • Communicate with ADS of any progress, challenges or concerns about SMs as assigned to mentor and assist.
  • Prepare Excel revenue forecast for hosted and retail services for assigned events.
  • Create contracts, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), payment and event analysis, including Cost of Goods (COG).
  • Continually interact with clients for program requirements before, during and after each event.
  • Resolve all disputes and/or operational issues during event to a positive result.
  • Send final billing to client post event, and follow up on any receivables for all assigned events.
     

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by or as needed from the Director of Sales and/or Regional Manager or Director of Finance.

Qualifications

BA Degree is required and/or 5 years’ experience as a Catering/Food and Beverage Sales Manager, Event Planner, Hotel Convention Services Manager or Meeting Planner.
 

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Organized, ability to prioritize and have strong time management skills
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive disposition and ability to motivate all staff to offer hospitality service that exceeds guest’s expectations
  • Able to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel) and other hospitality software
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills; experience working with diverse clients, professionals and staff members
     

Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint. Catering Software Proficient

Other Qualifications

Familiarity working with unions and an understanding of CBA rules.

Salary plus commissions~

$75,000 - $78,500 plus commissions
