The Lead Data Governance Analyst will join the Data Governance & Operations team within the Chief Data Office (CDO), reporting to one of the Data Governance Directors. The Lead Analyst will play a critical role by executing against key deliverables within the team’s book of work and by helping to ensure that the team delivers against the overall CDO strategy. This is a hands-on data governance role that will test your ability to practically implement formal data governance policies and standards as well as data governance concepts and principles. With regular exposure to senior data leaders across the organization, your skills in communication, synthesizing complex information, strategic thinking and execution excellence will ensure your work is high profile and impactful. This position will follow a hybrid work model with 3 days/week in the office required.
Responsibilities
Play an important role in the implementation of the Data Governance and Operations framework and operating model
Demonstrate deep understanding of the data governance framework and play a key SME role by supporting the Data Governance Director in crafting processes for consistent implementation
Help to define the operating model for the enterprise data glossary and catalog by identifying roles and responsibilities, defining processes, and establishing metadata management frameworks
Provide strategic and hands-on data governance support across the Chief Data Office (CDO) and the broader Enterprise
Work alongside the Data Quality team in defining data quality rules and related test scenarios/test cases
Assist in evaluating external data governance solutions with respect to their fitness for purpose
Leverage in-house data monitoring solutions to assess the quality of data and come up with remediation approach and solutions for improvement
Build a rapport with business collaborators and data and technology teams to find opportunities and areas to make a difference through the implementation of data governance framework
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
8+ years of experience predominantly in data related disciplines such as data governance and data quality in the financial services industry
Solid knowledge of data governance concepts around data definition and catalog, data ownership, data lineage, data policies and controls, data quality and data governance forums
Advanced knowledge of SQL
Preferred:
A high comfort level interacting with senior collaborators and an ability to drive meetings/trainings related to data governance
Excellent communication, collaboration, presentation, problem solving, and stakeholder management skills
Strong analytical skills and the ability to aggregate and simplify complex, disparate information
Knowledge of Python for data analysis is an advantage
Possess an innovative mindset
Track record of working with Data Quality tools for configuration and execution of data quality rules
Demonstrated experience contributing to Data Catalogs and Data Marketplaces
Understanding of with Data Lakehouse technologies
Knowledge of cloud platforms and awareness of data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau or Qlikview
Experience working in Agile environments and an ability to write data-related user stories and acceptance criteria
Strong knowledge of the Financial Services industry is an asset

Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for remote work up to two days a week.
